James Williams  

James Williams:   Born and raised near Shea Stadium, Jim has enjoyed most favored euphonium status in Indiana since 1989. Currently a professor of finance at Franklin College, Jim tours and records with Harvey Phillips, is the euphonium soloist and president of the Indianapolis Brass Choir, and has been the featured soloist with the Indiana Wind Symphony, the University of Indianapolis Concert Band, and the Otterbein College Wind Ensemble.

Brad Schrock  

Brad Schrock:   A versatile trombonist, Brad performs with the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic and with several area jazz and swing bands, including the Indianapolis Jazz Orchestra. Sporting a masters degree from Ball State University where he studied with Tom Senff and Wes Hanson, Brad is now the only member of the Columbus Brass Quintet to actually live in Columbus.

Daniel Kelly  

Daniel Kelly:   A virtuoso trumpeter, Daniel brings brilliance, technique, and style to the CBQ. Instructor of trumpet at Indiana State University with a Doctorate from the University of Illinois, Daniel has nearly convinced the rest of the group that practice is not a sign of insecurity.   

Mark Koenig  

Mark Koenig:   After toiling for 3 years as a trumpeter at Cedar Point amusement park and another 6 years in army bands, Mark's trumpet teacher at Indiana University finally convinced him to use both lips simultaneously, and the rest is history!   Mark currently teaches music in the Center Grove school system, at IUPUI, and directs the Indiana National Guard Jazz Band.

Alex Lapins  

Alex Lapins:  The newest (and youngest) member of the CBQ,Alex teaches on the faculty at Indiana State University, is principal tubist with the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra and the Columbus Philharmonic, and is a member of Harvey Phillips Tubacompany.  He was named 2004 tuba fellow at the Tanglewood Music Center.  Currently working on his doctorate at Indiana University, Alex anchors the Columbus Brass Quintet's wall of sound.

Dan Malott  

Dan Malott:   The world of percussion has never been the same since Dan joined the Columbus Brass Quintet in 2002. Since mustering out of the US Army Band system, Dan has been active performing in the Indianapolis area.   Whether adding timpani to the Pines of Rome or putting the swing into their big band features, Dan has single-handedly made the CBQ the only quintet in history to have 6 members!
